EMRIC at large-scale exercises in Aachen
EMRIC had the opportunity to observe two exercises in the StädteRegion Aachen to critically evaluate cooperation and emergency plans.
EMRIC was recently invited to observe two large-scale exercises organized by the StädteRegion Aachen. In Monschau, a major disaster was simulated following an ammonia leak, involving over 100 emergency responders and numerous actors realistically portraying victims. In Herzogenrath, the THW tested the entire process of large-scale sandbag filling. Such exercises are especially valuable: they allow organizers to critically evaluate and adjust plans if needed, and give foreign guests the opportunity to become familiar with the emergency services’ working methods in the other country.
