The Three Countries Festival

On May 25, 2024, the Three Countries Festival took place in Herzogenrath. Since 2022, the festival has been organized by AG Charlemagne Border Region with the support of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. EMRIC was, of course, also present, with the Herzogenrath fire department and the "experience container" from the Veiligheidsregio Zuid-Limburg fire department.

 

Visitors could gather information at numerous stands about the various services and opportunities within the Euregio. With a German fire truck and a Dutch fire simulator, the Herzogenrath fire department and the Zuid-Limburg fire department demonstrated the importance of joint firefighting and cross-border cooperation.

The Three Countries Festival of 2024 emphasized the strong bonds and collaboration between the neighboring countries in the Euregio. The Euregio Meuse-Rhine was described as a "little Europe" and praised as a "laboratory of European integration," highlighting the cooperation and cross-border character of the region.
